Lied United - Die Reihe für akustisches Liedgut

The February edition of Lied United will exceptionally take place one Thursday earlier than usual due to Weiberfastnacht.

The music of Bonn singer/songwriter Daniel Bongart is sensitive and touching. In his songs, he tells stories about people, secrets and emotions. The soulful interplay between the instrumental accompaniment and the vocals gives his personal, profound lyrics a very special touch. Sometimes powerful and sometimes fragile, Daniel Bongart's songs are musically reduced to what is emotionally necessary and are a special live experience between rock and folk.

The Cologne-based musician Nik Nova is a versatile singer-songwriter and guitarist whose solo project focuses on deep emotional expression and musical range. With his first solo album At The Crossroads, he combines elements of dark folk, blues, rock, indie and grunge to create his own sound, which is carried by personal, often thought-provoking lyrics and his versatile voice. His songs deal with existential feelings such as loss, longing, anger and hope. At Lied United, Nik Nova will play with a reduced acoustic line-up and will be accompanied by Stefan Schoo on guitar.

The series will be opened in February by Markus Apitius as a permanent member of the Lied United crew. Apitius gives free rein to his penchant for psychedelic sounds as well as folky ballads and beatlesque harmonies, always carried by intelligent songwriting and a touching, extraordinary voice.

As always, the evening will be hosted by Cologne musician, artist and presenter Wolfgang A. Noethen, who, alongside Apitius and Robert Gasper, is part of the Lied United organizing team.
