Here you can make music together in a cozy atmosphere and there will certainly be one or the other surprise and possibly also one or the other guest musician.
Henning invites guests to the Liedersofa to compete with them. Songs will be swapped, covered or simply interpreted differently.

Georg Zimmermann

Inspired by Heinrich Heine, Lou Reed, Bowie and Brecht, Georg Zimmermann occupies his very own place in the world of German-language music. Ambiguous lyricism meets blues and garage and the Düsseldorfer-by-choice wanders through a New York that spits out early punk.
Zimmermann thus finds "his very own approach to the German language" (WDR2) and proves to be "an astute contemporary who diagnoses the diseases of civilization to the same extent that he suffers from them - and steers melancholy into accentuated channels with a high density of wordplay."(www.plattentests.de)
The current album "SPLEEN" combines fuzz-heavy protopunk with catchy power pop and Georg Zimmermann uses symbolist poetry to work through personal and social quirks.
A Zimmermann solo set often unexpectedly turns into a fascinating mixture of folk performance and ironic rock show: the fourth wall crumbles into a miserable heap of shards and the singer explores the room and the audience.
The Duisburg-born singer also performs with a band or accompanied by another guitarist: The mixture of Americana, blues and punk wraps itself around the carefully written lyrics like an elegant cloak.

This is indie pop from Cologne, for 25 years now: German-language, multi-layered, haunting. Formerly more Britpop, today more edge. With lyrics from life about life, with flashbacks between cornichons and fried eggs and the horizon beneath their feet, sometimes with a raised fist, sometimes with their heart in their pocket. Balladic and touching, driving and stirring, for the soul, for the dance floor and for everything in between.
