New York, early 1960s: 19-year-old Bob Dylan from Minnesota is greeted by cultural upheaval and a dynamic music scene. In his luggage he has his guitar and an extraordinary talent that was to change the course of American music forever. While he celebrates his first successes in the folk scene, he feels increasingly crushed by the expectations of the folk movement and makes a controversial decision.

The film tells the story of Bob Dylan's musical beginnings, his development into the voice of the protest movement in the USA - right up to his infamous performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.

"Like A Complete Unknown" is a captivating and atmospherically dense musician drama that impresses with superbly staged music scenes. Timothée Chalamet's intense performance is particularly noteworthy, as are the raw, live-recorded songs that get under your skin.
