The third evening of the four-part Literatur zur Zeit special "Pop, Literature and
Society - Mind the Gaps". Supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne and the
Kunststiftung NRW: "Re:Writing Hi(s)story" Moderation: Wolfgang Frömberg
We will talk about the authors' novels and about the phenomenon of rewriting
rewriting or rewriting or rewriting works of canon literature as well as about
literary empowerment of characters who, in the fictional treatment of real events
real events only very gradually have their say. Nicole Flattery's novel
"Nothing Special" sheds a different light on (art) history, in which she
by choosing an inconspicuous employee of Warhol's Factory as the main character. Lea
Ruckpaul's "Bye Bye Lolita" is a literary response to Nabokov's classic - the
biggest misunderstanding in literary history".
