429 days, 4 continents, 35 countries, 32,000 km: Fascinating figures from a fascinating trip around the world on two wheels.

How does it feel to come face to face with a family of bears in the Canadian wilderness? What does it mean to fight a sandstorm in the hot South American Atacama Desert? Riding a bike high up at 5,000 meters or facing a lion in front of your tent? How does such an epic journey change a person's heart and soul?

On his solo gravel bike ride, Tyrolean Thomas Widerin dived deep into the world of a cycling adventurer and not only saw fascinating countries and met extraordinary people, but also cycled right through the often mysterious world of (predatory) animals. But he also had to learn to accept his physical and mental limits.

In a gripping multivision presentation, the adventurer takes his visitors along on the journey and lets them share in all the beautiful, but also unusual and frustrating experiences. Live spoken texts, pictures, videos and music that get under your skin.

About the person:

Thomas Widerin, born in 1962, father of one son, lives in Seefeld in Tirol (Austria). He was a police officer for 36 years, including 27 years in management positions. As an alpine police officer and mountain rescuer, he was responsible for operations and investigations in many alpine accidents. He competed for the Austrian national police team at several world championships and became world champion in police eight-man combat once. He was also an air rescuer on an emergency helicopter for 26 years and flew more than 3,000 rescue missions.

Thomas Widerin only discovered his passion for cycling at the age of 45. At that time, he was a "beginner cyclist" and crossed the USA from the east to the west coast. Since then, he has experienced several major cycling adventures in many countries around the world. His biggest project to date was "Long Way Home - Solo by bike from Alaska to Austria" and took the Tyrolean over 32,000 km through 4 continents and 35 countries from Alaska to his home country.

Thomas Widerin has written 4 books to date and works as a freelance author for several cycling and outdoor magazines. He is currently reporting on his last great adventure "Long Way Home" in an exciting multivision presentation.
