In the organizer's words:

A psychedelic sound journey from Amida to Europe

The millennia-old melodies of Mesopotamia come to life on the modern stages of Europe. The musicians Mehmet Akbaş and Erdem Altınses combine Syrian, Zaza, Kurdish, Persian, Arabic, Armenian and Turkish sounds with electro saz, lute, violin, dengbêj narratives and electronic sounds.

The project combines psychedelic pop, folk and electronic dance music with traditional regional dance melodies - a performance that simultaneously remains true to its roots and makes the pulse of the present tangible.

Special guest: The Pia Intercultural Choir will be on stage as a guest choir and present selected pieces together with Mehmet Akbaş and Erdem Altınses.

NIMM PLATZ am Neumarkt is a joint project of Cologne's cultural administration and the independent cultural scene, with contributions from the University of Music and Dance (HfMT) and the Academy of Media Arts (KHM).
