MALIMA - Tierra
Concert

MALIMA takes the audience to Argentina, to the mysterious backyards where the tangos and milongas take place, or to Spain, where the gardens of the Alcazar beckon with exotic plants and scents.
In addition to their own compositions, they play melodies from Spain, Peru, Argentina, Venezuela and Cuba. The special magic of this music is created by rhythms such as Flamenco Buleria, Zamba, Cuban Son, Tango Nuevo or Afro.

Their new program Tierra is about the feeling of connection with the earth. Images and colors influence the sense of hearing and inspire the imagination.

Mona Roth has been playing the piano since the age of 9 and studied rhythmics at the Hamburg Conservatory and the Cologne University of Music. For over 20 years she has been playing classical music as well as salsa and Latin jazz in various formations.

Pablo Ramirez comes from a very musical family. He grew up in the port city of Callao, Peru. In addition to salsa, Afro-Peruvian music is also at home there. At the age of 22, he was already a bongosero in the Peru All Stars, the best salsa orchestra in Peru. Longer stays in Colombia and Brazil expanded his repertoire and his knowledge of different playing styles on the congas, timbales, bongos and the Peruvian cajon.

Marcus Seibert was already involved in various engagements as a substitute clarinettist in the Aachen Symphony Orchestra as a teenager.

He was a founding member of the band "Hardcore Plüsch", German rap/funk, CD recording "Best of" and later a member of the Hürth Jazz Quartet, performing in Belgium, Italy, southern Germany and many times in the Cologne area

Since 1992 he has been a member of the band "Portofino" Latin-Jazz, 2 CD recordings were made, among others with the singer Raquel Molina (Venezuela). All wind arrangements were written by him. Numerous concerts at home and abroad, including as the house band of the Hilton Hotel, Cologne.

As he masters various clarinets, MALIMA brings out the most diverse timbres.
