Maren Kroymann & Band „In my Sixties“

For many people, getting older is also an occasion for a wistful, disillusioned look back at the life they have lived. Not so for the actress and cabaret artist Maren Kroymann, whose career really took off again when she was long past 60. She shows us that revolution and emancipation ultimately continue to have an effect in old age, like a fresh cell therapy with a depot function.

In her program "In my Sixties", she dedicates herself to the music of the 60s with an undisguised view, taboo-free verve and fresh interest on the occasion of an anniversary that she has decided to celebrate: "50 years of puberty". It is the music that triggered such unheard-of feelings: first sexual desire, the desire for devotion, for lightness, for liberation. The songs promised a life that could be more colorful, wilder and more beautiful than that of the parents' generation with its rigid moral concepts.

In this program, the gifted singer Maren Kroymann works her way through the musical gems of the 60s as well as the ideological rubble with relish and wit. She was particularly taken with the wonderful Dusty Springfield, with her powerful voice that expressed a feminine strength that was only just emerging in society.

Maren Kroymann is accompanied, carried and inspired by her fabulous band with Matthias Binner (grand piano), HD Lorenz (bass), Ralf Lehmann (guitar) and Ralf Kündgen (drums).
