Passion story in tango rhythm
The creator of tango nuevo, Astor Piazzolla, paid homage to the tango from the run-down harbor districts of Buenos Aires with this abysmal passion story of María. Jazz, toccata and fugue are further ingredients of his melancholy, abysmal sound narrative.
The ghost conjures up the forgotten voice of María through a crack in the asphalt of the street and tells her story: she comes from the suburbs in search of happiness, glows, gets intoxicated and plays, sells herself and dies to become a mythical figure.
