Maria Mendoza’s Quintet

In the organizer's words:

María Mendoza, Venezuelan flutist, completed her master's degree in jazz improvisation at the Folkwang University of the Arts in March 2025. Her final project was the recording of the album "Traguito de Café", which presents seven pieces from different musical genres - strongly influenced by Latin American jazz and Venezuelan music in particular. In it, she also presents her first suite "Traguito de Café". The album was awarded top marks and also earned her an invitation to the Folkwang Jazz Prize, where she was a finalist.
