On Saturday, July 04, 2026, the Swiss musician and composer Mario Batkovic will play his "INTROSPECTIO Tour" open-air concert on the Schwaneninsel at the Kulturhaus Schwanen Waiblingen. The set is a solo performance on the accordion - without effects, without loops: Batkovic builds rhythm, drone, melody and percussion from keys, air and touch. In 2026, the accordion will be celebrated as "Instrument of the Year" in Germany - Batkovic shows why: an instrument like an orchestra with sound work between minimal music, ambient and raw pressure.

Mario Batkovic has removed the accordion from its traditional context and enters into a symbiotic relationship between man and instrument: Challenging, hypnotic and of grandiose beauty.

His innovative techniques and experimental compositions create a unique and profound connection between classical and contemporary sounds: keys become rhythm, air becomes tension, melodies appear and disappear again. His music moves between minimal music, ambient, post-rock force and a kind of "handmade techno" - played with fingers, bellows and timing. His symphonic vision is not only incomparable, but also unites various musical disciplines into a harmonious whole and raises the accordion to a completely new level.

International critics describe his concerts as an "unforgettable accordion experience" and emphasize how great this music becomes with just one instrument.

He is a multi-faceted visionary who has had a lasting impact on the music scene, even in the cinema and gaming contexts (e.g. "Red Dead Redemption II", Mad Heidi, The Swallow).
He has received several awards for his work, including the Swiss Music Prize.
