Maud the Moth is the solo project of Spanish-born and Scotland-based pianist, singer and songwriter Amaya López-Carromero. Maud the Moth serves as Amaya's alter ego: a séance-like conduit through which to process personal life experiences, and in particular themes of rootlessness, identity and trauma. Stylistically, Maud the moth uses her classical training as a platform upon which her eclectic songwriting and cathartic solo live performances rest. Maud the moth has also been invited to perform as guest artist by Chelsea Wolfe, Anna von Hausswolf, Kayo Dot, Dvne and Helen Money among other artists. Maud the moth released her fourth full-length album The Distaff in early 2025.
Very special guest: Aidan Baker is a classically-trained, multi-instrumentalist focusing on the electric guitar as his primary instrument. Using prepared and alternate methods of playing, along with various electronic effects, Baker creates music which generally falls within the ambient/experimental genre but draws on influences from post-rock, shoegaze, electronica, neo-classical, and jazz.
Currently both artists are working on a collaborative project and even if it won't be released for a while, are excited to share their music with you!
