A Christmas classic: Tchaikovsky's music for the ballet The Nutcracker: E. T. A. Hoffmann's story of a memorable Christmas evening in which dream and reality intermingle is not danced, but told. When the tin soldiers start to march, the Sugar Plum Fairy begins to dance, the battle against the Mouse King rages and Marie travels with the Nutcracker through the realm of the Sugar Plum Fairy, then the music kicks in and enchants the audience, not least thanks to the great linguistic skills of the actor Wanja Mues, who is also well-known in Leipzig.
