The creation of the world has never been more vividly and excitingly captured in sound: Joseph Haydn's entire compositional artistry, versatility and innovative power has flowed into his creation. It reflects the ideas of the Enlightenment, which no longer centered on God but on man as a responsible being. Although Handel's influences can be heard musically, Haydn's orchestral treatment already pushes forward into the spheres of the 19th century. With this concert, Josep Vila i Casañas takes up his position as the new chief conductor of the MDR Radio Choir.
