MEET ME AT THE VILLA! Öffentliche Führung

In the organizer's words:

MEET ME AT THE VILLA! is the first comprehensive exhibition of KfW Stiftung's art collection. Nineteen diverse artistic positions are presented on two floors: from photography and film to painting and sculpture, from artistic research to political-activist practice. Villa 102, a listed building dating from 1912, serves as the backdrop - the upper middle-class residential building is itself a repository of its own eventful history. In a dialog between art and architecture, discursive perspectives on memory and history are made visible and tangible.

The works of art have a special connection to the KfW Stiftung: many projects were once conceived as part of the international funding program. Some were developed and purchased specifically for Villa 102. Today, they are not only part of the collection, but also manifest processes of artistic production and cooperation. As different as their global contexts may be, their thematic similarities are surprising: How are collective memory and art practice connected? Is it possible to give history a form and what role does digitality play in this? The KfW Stiftung collection challenges and questions social contexts. The exhibition is an invitation to engage with contemporary impulses. With this in mind: MEET ME AT THE VILLA!

Places for the accompanying program are limited. Registration for the guided tours is required. Guided tourstake place with a minimum number of 5 participants.
