Songwriting with Katerina Zhukova

Want to write your own song but don't know how? You already have lyrics but no music yet? How do you overcome writer's block? In our songwriting workshop with Katerina Zhukova - Popakademie Master graduate - you can learn valuable exercises and tips from a professional songwriter and exchange ideas with others.

Under the artist name LOEN, Katerina creates an intimate sound world between indie folk and art pop. She writes healing songs for troubled hearts and combines the melancholy of Feist, the expressiveness of Stevie Nicks and the deep-rooted longing of traditional folk songs in her music. In her live performances, Loen combines poetic lyrics with a warm, authentic stage presence that puts the audience in a gentle, almost meditative mood. For Loen, music is a way of healing - her songs invite you to remember, to feel and to find yourself again.

Live sound engineering with Tilli Treier (no pronouns)

Taking responsibility for the sound technology at a concert is an exciting but also demanding task. In this workshop you will learn the most important things you need to know to get started in this field. We will set up microphones, lay cables, mix the sound on the mixing desk and, most importantly, have fun doing it. No previous knowledge is necessary and all questions are welcome.

The workshop will be led by Tilli Treier from Frankfurt. Tilli has 15 years of band experience on various instruments, writes and produces music for her own and other projects and coaches and leads workshops, especially for interested FLINTA* groups. Tilli is currently active in the bands: TOYBOYS, Kill Morrissey, Suspectre, Die platzenden Pickel.

SATURDAY, 25.042026:

Screaming workshop with Laura Gierl (she/her)

Due to high demand, we are now offering this workshop for you for the second time! This workshop is suitable for beginners, but also for advanced students who are not aware of the technique and anatomy or would like to check themselves again. Please bring something to drink (water or tea, no dairy products or soda) and a large towel. Each theoretical part will be followed by practical exercises. Afterwards there will be an open question and answer session in which Laura can address your specific questions or problems. At the end of the workshop, you will have the tools you need to practise and control yourself.

Laura has been a singer in the metal genre since she was 19 years old.
With her band "The Tex Avery Syndrome" she has been at home on stages all over Germany and beyond for over 10 years. As a sound engineer, she has recorded the German voices for Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, Resident Evil and more and has worked with well-known voice actors. She has also provided her voice for BOOM Library's Creatures. She has been giving lessons and workshops for harsh vocals for almost 3 years.
