The Bach-Verein Köln invites you to an all-Mendelssohn program on the day of the Cologne Marathon. After the runners of the Cologne Marathon have long since completed their top sporting performance, a musical counterpart will be performed in the Trinity Church at 6 (!) pm: a Mendelssohn marathon in miniature format! The focus is on the outstanding German church composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, who knew how to make the human voice shine like no other. With around 50 sacred choral works, among others, he left behind a compositional legacy that has become the epitome of Romantic tonal language. The purely a cappella program is complemented by an exquisite selection of organ works with which the composer helped organ culture to flourish in the 19th century. A feast for the ears and soul!
