The Kölner Spendenkonvoi e.V. invites you to a special film series: "Screen of Solidarity" focuses on stories about barely noticed humanitarian crises.
Each evening, the director is a personal guest in a moderated film discussion, which is intended to encourage a change of perspective. The series offers a rare opportunity to explore the human dimensions of need and solidarity through the art of film.

All proceeds from the entire film series will go directly to the protagonists of the film "Moria Six" to support them in their fight for justice.

The second evening on November 12, 2025 will focus on the film "Moria Six" by Jennifer Mallmann. After the Moria camp on Lesbos was burned down in September 2020, six refugees were held responsible for the destruction of the camp in a questionable trial. The documentary sheds light on this case and uses the controversial conviction as an opportunity to take a closer look at the new European refugee policy and the structural exclusion it entails. At the center of the film is the correspondence between Hassan, one of the six convicted young people, and the director. The film finds vivid images for the highly technical human management apparatus at Europe's external borders: The newly constructed refugee camp looks like a futuristic high-security camp in contrast to the vacation idyll.

"Moria Six" celebrated its world premiere in the German Competition of DOK Leipzig in 2024, where it won the DEFA Sponsorship Award and the Leipziger Ring Award.

This evening's guest is director Jennifer Mallmann. After the screening, she will talk about her intensive research, the ethical challenges of filming and the ongoing significance of the case in a moderated discussion.
