The coronavirus pandemic triggers a crisis in ensemble member Claude De Demo: She has no care for her children, she is afraid and has too little time. Suddenly, feelings arise that a mother - according to the role cliché - should not have. On the contrary, she thinks: I am an unhappy mother - even though I love my children. This also brings doubts: Am I not woman enough? Am I not human enough? Excessive demands, stagnation and tiredness make her want to show a more realistic picture of motherhood, far removed from jam and lullabies. With #MOTHERFUCKINGHOOD, together with director Jorinde Dröse, she brings to the stage all those ideas and injustices that are so often concealed, that find no place in the image of the eternally patient, self-sacrificing mother. Based on intensive research, conversations with scientists and texts by various authors, a collage about motherhood, care work and the persistent feeling of guilt and anger has been created. It deals with the reality between the gender pay gap, mental load, daycare places and the "maternal instinct" as well as the question: If the truth about motherhood is on the table, how many women still choose it voluntarily?
