Museum Night Halle & Leipzig 2026: One evening, 90 venues, countless night creatures

Museum, but not stiff, please? Then you should mark May 9, 2026 in your calendar!

It's that time again: for Museum Night Halle & Leipzig, a total of 90 museums, galleries and collections in both cities will open their doors between 6 pm and midnight for an evening full of discoveries, atmosphere and special experiences.

Become a night creature and shape your night!

The 2026 motto is "Night Shapes " - and that's exactly what this evening invites you to do: discover special places, new perspectives and cultural experiences late into the night that you often don't get during the day. Create your own personal culture night.

Just going from exhibition to exhibition is a thing of the past: the Museum Night is perfect for anyone who is in the mood for culture and an evening full of variety. A program of guided tours, concerts, films, hands-on activities and surprising insights awaits you. Sometimes inspiring, sometimes entertaining, sometimes very atmospheric - but definitely anything but dry.

This year, in addition to the familiar venues, several new institutions are also taking part - including the a&o Kunsthalle in Leipzig, Riebeckstraße 63 e.V., the Bibliotop at Leipzig University, 47m Contemporary, the Kunsthalle der Sparkasse Leipzig. So there's something new to discover even for experienced night owls.

One ticket covers everything! Wander through Leipzig and Halle, get to know new places, rediscover your favorite venues and experience culture in an atmosphere that often doesn't happen during the day.

From 16:00 to 03:00, your ticket is valid for public transport and the S-Bahn between Halle and Leipzig. Special lines will also take you from place to place.

• Free for everyone up to and including the age of 18 (free ticket required)

Whether you're a culture vulture, curious explorer or simply looking for a special evening: you'll get your money's worth at the Museum Night. And even better: many events are barrier-free.
