Kiezduell: [Musste Battlen!] - Linden vs. Nordstadt - 1. Hannover Stadtteil Open der Mixed Club Culture Arts

In the organizer's words:

Kiezduell: [Musste Battlen!] 1st Hannover District Open of Mixed Club Culture Arts

Who rules Hannover's nightlife? Linden or Nordstadt? Südstadt or List? Musicians, dancers, poetry slammers and DJs will compete against each other across districts at Hannover's first Mixed Club Culture Arts District Open - and you decide who the real club kings and queens are!

The beats, rhymes, moves and scratches will be flying on the boxing ring stage at the music center. One-on-one in 10-minute sets - hit after hit, applause after applause! Who has the loudest fans, the loudest applause and the strongest community?

Kickoff: Tuesday, May 12, 8 p.m.
Duel: Linden vs. Nordstadt
Location: MusikZentrum, Emil-Meyer-Straße 26
Entry: 5 €

Where in Hanover do the real party masters, the club kings and queens, actually live? The ones who are firmly rooted in the district but also shape the cultural and nightlife of the whole city? From which district do the most exciting musicians, the best dancers, the most eloquent poetry slammers and the most exciting DJs come? Are they to be found, as is commonly assumed, in the relevant neighborhoods of Linden and Nordstadt? Or do the biggest talents in club culture come from the List or Südstadt after all?

We want to find out! Together, HAZ and Musikzentrum Hannover are calling for Hannover's first district open of mixed club culture arts - and we're calling it: Kiezduell: [Musste battlen!] We're pitting artists from the four disciplines of music/band, poetry slam/comedy, dance and DJing against each other. The event kicks off with a new edition of the eternal neighborhood duel between Linden and Nordstadt. On Tuesday, May 12, at 8 pm. Both will then nominate the districts that will compete against each other in the next duel - and so on.

The club culture showdown will take place at the music center in Emil-Meyer-Straße - on a boxing ring stage in the middle of the hall, with spectators all around. The audience in the hall decides which district emerges as the winner by applause-o-meter. Admission to the battles in the music center (Emil-Meyer-Straße 26) costs 5 euros.

Recognized right away? In addition to music, poetry slam, dance and DJing, there is a secret fifth discipline in which the fans of the artists and club culture in general play the decisive role: Which district has the best, most party-loving and loudest audience that is enthusiastic about night culture throughout Hanover, but also especially about artists in their own neighborhood?

In each of the 90-minute shows, the acts from the four genres compete one-on-one in sets of no more than ten minutes, blow by blow. Whoever receives the most applause collects points accordingly.

Artists from Linden and the Nordstadt district can apply from now until April 15 by sending an e-mail to simon.koehler@musikzentrum-hannover.de (further details of the call for entries and all information about the shows can also be found there). Important: The origin from the district must be clearly explained. Bands and dance crews may consist of a maximum of 5 people from different districts, but at least one person in a prominent artistic role must come from the respective district.

The artists who will then battle it out for the ultimate club culture glory in the shows for the districts will be selected by knowledgeable people from the HAZ editorial team, the music center team and other experts in the respective genres. So come on, artists from the north and south of the city - what are you waiting for? The application deadline is now open!
