Neongelbes Sofa: Markus Thielemann & Christian Oehlschläger

The Neon Yellow Sofa goes into the next round! Margarete von Schwarzkopf introduces two more authors from Hanover: Markus Thielemann and Christian Oehlschläger. In his anti-homeland novel, Thielemann delves deep into the abysses of a supposedly 'original German' idyll. Oehlschläger writes crime novels in which an unlikely pair of investigators go on the hunt for criminals, as well as short stories that are often set around hunters and in forests. Both will talk about their literary creative processes, current books and answer questions. Actor Rainer Frank will read from the texts.

Markus Thielemann's second novel Von Norden rollt ein Donner was shortlisted for the German Book Prize 2024, for which he also received a grant from the state of Lower Saxony.

Christian Oehlschläger, a district forester in Großburgwedel in his professional life, has been writing about people, animals, nature and crime for over 40 years.
