NEXT IS NOW: LIGANOVA PRÄSENTIERT ROBOTIC SOUND ARTIST MORITZ SIMON GEIST IN STUTTGART

LIGANOVA, the leading agency group for brand experience, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an impressive highlight: as part of the anniversary campaign "NEXT is NOW", internationally renowned robotic sound artist Moritz Simon Geist is transforming the agency headquarters in Stuttgart into an interactive sound studio. Under the title "Sound Sculptures", the public can expect an immersive exhibition that redefines the boundaries between technology, art and music.

Moritz Simon Geist is considered a pioneer of robot music and at the interface of technology and art. The German artist, musician and developer is known for his unique projects in which he uses robots and mechanical devices as musical instruments. His installations are a mix of high-tech, performance and art. Beats that become visible. Sound that moves.

Originally trained in computer science, Geist founded his own lab where he develops and constructs his complex robotic musical instruments. Instead of digital simulations, Geist has his robots physically strike instruments such as metal rods, wooden blocks or synthesizer keys. The result is a unique, often percussive and futuristic sound, characterized by the precision and fascinating limits of mechanics.

Geist's works have already been shown worldwide in renowned institutions such as Ars Electronica (Linz) or at festivals such as Mutek (Montreal, Tokyo). Now he is bringing his visionary soundscapes to Stuttgart.

LIGANOVA is showing three of his selected works:

MR-808
A huge, mechanically controlled version of the cult TR-808 drum machine, where the audience programs the beats live. Robotic arms drum, the whole thing sounds like the future - and looks just like it.

Soft Manipulator
A playful sound field of robots, pots, glasses and other everyday objects. Everything moves, everything sounds. An analog-digital playground to touch, join in and be amazed.

Hard Times - Soft Sounds
The quiet counterpart: a shell filled with water is gently set in motion and produces fragile, almost whispering sounds. An invitation to pause - meditative, hypnotic, beautifully reduced.

"Sound Sculptures" is not an exhibition in the classic sense. It is an audiovisual experience. A playground for sound, code and creativity.
