Sing your favorite Italian song!

After returning from the summer vacations, the Makkaroni Akademie is organizing a karaoke evening with the most popular Italian songs and summer hits on Friday, 29 August, in the pavilion on Neumarkt, for everyone who wants to sing. Passers-by and visitors can choose their favorite Italian songs, which will then be played with lyrics over the sound system and projection. We are looking forward to it!

To mark the 70th anniversary of the German-Italian agreement on the recruitment of so-called guest workers in December 2025, the Macaroni Academy is collecting stories, sifting through family albums, searching for alternative images of Italy and acting as a sounding board for Italo-musical evenings. The four artists and activists Rosanna D'Ortona, Francesca Magistro, Aurora Rodonò and Luisa Zanzani founded the Macaroni Academy in 2020 with the aim of clearing up the collective image of stereotypical models about Italy and drawing the 'macaroni' in Cologne.

NIMM PLATZ am Neumarkt is a joint project of Cologne's cultural administration and the independent cultural scene, with contributions from the University of Music and Dance (HfMT) and the Academy of Media Arts (KHM).
