Alexander Weinstock reads from The Endangerment of Youth

The innocence that every adolescent loses is irretrievable: The endangerment of youth lurks in every corner of the children's room, on the way to school, when looking in the mirror and, above all, in memory. The poems from Alexander Weinstock's poetry debut Die Gefährdung der Jugend (edition neje tieden 2023), now in its third edition, tell of the rites of adolescence, its tragicomedy and the losses, wishes and desires of a phase of life that lives on in all further paths and journeys - with a fine sense of interpersonal friction and the melancholy smile on the lips of someone who is looking for something and finds something completely different.

Paul Jennerjahn - lazarus in the things

The average person in Europe is said to own 10,000 objects. Things are ascribed a commodity fetish, their entanglement with colonial-fossil capitalism, and yet they are the cultural-historical precondition of man. Under his thumb, objects are considered dead, and yet the poems from lazarus in den dingen defend a life of their own, a poetic existentialism, the cupboard, the cork, the sponge, the straw, the pillow, the marble, the screw, the others. "In his poems from the lazarus in den dingen series, Paul Jennerjahn reveals his unusual and at the same time precise eye for detail and allows us to view everyday objects, which we sometimes already have the feeling will soon be talking to us, from unusual angles."
