FROM BELFAST TO ATHENS. Christoph Danne reads poems from Europe

Cologne-based writer Christoph Danne brings new texts from his travels to Neumarkt: they are casual scenes and sketches, the taste of sand and earth, salt and lemons, an album of images from abroad that reach into the familiar. Metropolises and provinces. The poems are an invitation to surrender to curiosity.

A journey to places one has never seen before is always also a journey in the footsteps of oneself; and passers-by on market squares and in the metro always conduct variations of their own soliloquies. Danne has dedicated himself to the poetic survey of the Mediterranean coasts, the sound of the cities and their train stations, the quiet nights in the hotels between La Rochelle and Bastia, Solothurn and Barcelona, Belfast and Athens.
