Norma

In the organizer's words:

"Casta Diva" - "Chaste Goddess". With this famous cavatina, the priestess Norma commands the population to be peaceful in the fight against the Roman occupiers. However, the conflict rages within Norma herself, as she has broken her vows and is secretly a lover and mother. She leads a double life, as do her lover, the Roman general Pollione, and the novice Adalgisa. All these dangerous secrets come to a head in a drama of life, death and sacrifices of love before the conflicts over occupation and Roman supremacy. They say that all weapons are permitted in war - even those that strike at the heart and destroy everything we love?

Bellini's celebrated bel canto opera from 1831 presents these conflicts in an extreme spectrum of emotions, with dramatic choral scenes, rituals and vocal fireworks from the three exceptional singers at the heart of this operatic thriller. It is a matter of life or death, war or peace, love or duty.

This production contains lighting effects, including strobe and lightning effects, which are used on stage.
