ABOUT THE WORK

Grand opera on the one hand: Ancient saga! War between Romans and Gauls. But Norma is "also" a psychological, subtle chamber play about a highly complex woman entangled in terrible conflicts: Norma, high priestess of the druids and lover of the Roman governor Pollione. Betrayed, this "casta diva", the "chaste goddess", seeks revenge. It ends cruelly: death in love at the stake! Total bel canto madness, ecstasy and beauty!
