Wild boar and fox watch as a cute little mayfly sees the light of day. Full of zest for action and enterprise, she has just hatched and already has a busy schedule: she wants to do an apprenticeship, get married and learn foreign languages. Wild boar and fox soon realize that their new friend is unaware of her short life. But a mayfly is a mayfly.
mayfly. The two of them try everything they can to prevent her from finding out and prepare the best day of her life for her. In the process, they get into many a dicey situation.

Martin Baltscheit's story is a humorous and sensitive examination of the course of events, a story about friendship and empathy and the great joy of life.
