Two sisters. A mother in need of care.
The younger one takes her in - out of a sense of duty, out of closeness, out of a desire to do things right. But between children, housework and care, she reaches her limits.
Rosie is supposed to help: a humanoid care robot. Precise, adaptive, tireless. Rosie takes over the care, organizes everyday life, calms the situation.
But the better Rosie works, the more the family structure shifts. Closeness is simulated, responsibility is relinquished, control is shifted. What begins as a relief turns out to be a disaster.
In the end, the question is no longer who cares - but who decides.
Christina Kettering was awarded first prize in the "Science & Theatre" playwriting competition in 2019 for Schwarze Schwäne. The world premiere took place at Theater Heilbronn.
