Oddgeir Berg: A place called home
Island of sounds

Rolla is small and sparsely populated - just 900 people live here. On "A Place Called Home", Oddgeir Berg takes us to this island, the birthplace of his father, for a concept album about the magic of nature, memories and family ties.
The music was written with a new trio line-up and during a time of personal turmoil when Berg's mother was diagnosed with cancer. As you would expect, the music is intimate and pastoral, mostly slow and introspective.
But there are also many moments of gentle exploration as well as a wonderful bass solo by new member Audun Ramo. Rollo is a dreamlike place - but also one full of wanderlust.
