Experience the city from its darker side on the tour for "pilgrims and merchants passing through". Learn curious and highly interesting facts about the legal system of the Middle Ages and let yourself be (just) put through your paces.
The 30 Years' War is over. Hardship and misery everywhere. Accompany "Master Hans" on his way through the city in 1660 and listen to him describe his struggle for survival as an executioner with important additional tasks and income. How does he live with his family in the "dishonor" attributed to him? What was his involvement in the judicial system of the time, in which, after the torture ordered by the court, he even treated the delinquents medically afterwards so that they were prepared for execution? There were many ways of carrying out a death sentence at the execution site outside the city or corporal punishment in the pillory.
