ONE STRIKE SALVATION

In the organizer's words:

How do you say goodbye to a home? How do you carry on memories without being crushed by them? A powerful duet that explores these questions through movement, rhythm and ritual acts.

The two performers move between past and present, between personal memories and collective history. They draw on traditions of commemoration and independence ceremonies and deconstruct them. The result is moving images of letting go - and at the same time the impossibility of separating ourselves from what has shaped us and continues to shape us. At the heart of the piece is a radical idea: grief and joy do not have to be mutually exclusive. They can exist side by side, permeate each other, take up space together. The repetitive choreography becomes a ritual of transformation - a constant interplay between tension and relaxation, between holding on and letting go. Symbolic objects become bridges between worlds, rhythm becomes a common language. Yotam Peled - who we now welcome to LOFFT with his second co-production after FISTS TO FLOWERS (2023) - invites the audience together with dancer and choreographer Nitzan Moshe: Become part of a ceremony that is both deeply personal and universally human. A farewell ritual that paradoxically tells of the impossibility of a final farewell.

From 14 years.

Duration: approx. 60 minutes.

In English with songs sung in Hebrew.

On Saturday, 15 November, the play will be followed by a PUBLIC TALK with dance and theater critic Dr. Elisabeth Nehring and the artists.
