This year, Pauline Schönfelder is the same age her parents were when the country they were born into simply disappeared. Growing up with memories of a country that no longer exists. But how can you talk about something that you didn't experience yourself?
Schönfelder invites you to a concert, to a night out, to a cold buffet. In her wildest imagination, she reasserts the GDR, which she never knew, in order to find out what what is no longer there tastes and sounds like. Again and again, she writhes around the shame of her own ignorance, the gap between narrative, imagination and experience.
OST is a culinary concert performance and a collective negotiation of what has become deeply inscribed as emotional heritage. Everyday life, anecdote and autofiction feed the soundtrack of the collective question mark of an entire generation and ultimately point far beyond it.
