Overcoming Trauma – Celebrating Queerness

In the organizer's words:

The empowering drag show that connects - by part-time princess Linette and Athena Owls.

Trauma - this psychological term is on everyone's lips. Be it exclusion, violence and family conflicts or mental health problems. As queer people, we experience these all the time. However, we have developed different ways of dealing with them. We use drag as an art form to bring our issues to the stage and show ways of dealing with them together. Our community is very resilient and creative when it comes to coping with life under difficult conditions. Whether "Chosen Family", "Queer Joy" or making art - the paths are as diverse as we are.
With the drag artists Angel van Hell from Jena and xtremophiliax from Leipzig, we bring an empowering and emotional program to the stage. We keep asking: How can we heal ourselves? How can we get through dark times and emerge stronger?
There will also be an infotainment talk on the topic of "Neurodiversity and Queerness". This time we will be hosting Minzgespinst, a local association that campaigns for the rights and concerns of neurodivergent people and for awareness. How can we understand neurodiversity? What do (queer) people need and what barriers exist in everyday life? We will explore these and other questions together.
We invite all people who see themselves as queer and all allies to experience queer stories in a safe space, to celebrate and live out our queerness together with us.
Lets overcome this trauma and celebrate our queerness!
