In the organizer's words:

The linking of the NRW scene with other European jazz centers should take us to the north-east of the European Union in 2025, our partner country should be Lithuania, a country, a society that has repeatedly come into existential distress politically, economically and, of course, culturally. The fact that Lithuania's most important poet, Tomas Venclova, describes the "perceived geographical location" of Vilnius as a "permanent periphery" and concludes that Vilnius is "an eccentric, capricious, irregular city" also has to do with its geographical location - a list that makes us hungry for a musical encounter.
Leonid Sinkarenko is one of the key figures of Lithuanian jazz. He has been leading his own bands since the 1970s, plays in the Lituanian Jazz Trio and organizes the annual Nida Jazz Festival. Keyboardist Andrius Savchenko is a much younger musician from Lithuania. We see this as a very positive movement and form an ensemble for peripheral in which representatives of the current improv scene meet those of the fusion scene. This doesn't have to be incompatible; when a free jazz-oriented trombone improvises over a rocking bass ostinato, the result is an energy that is reminiscent of the "eccentric, capricious city" of Vilnius. If things go particularly well, the audience may get the impression that particularly colorful flowers are blooming on the periphery.
