Europe is caught between integration and demarcation. Borders - once a hard separation and protection, then a border of shame, today a semi-permeable membrane - no longer only mark the outside, but also the inside. Where do Europe's visible and invisible borders run? This evening, philosopher Peter Sloterdijk and author Durs Grünbein will be talking about this.

Peter Sloterdijk was born on June 26, 1947. His book "Critique of Cynical Reason", published by Suhrkamp Verlag in 1983, is one of the best-selling philosophical books of the 20th century. Sloterdijk is professor emeritus of philosophy and aesthetics at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe and was its rector from 2001 to 2015.

Durs Grünbein was born in Dresden on October 9, 1962. He is one of the most important and internationally influential German poets and essayists. He has received numerous prizes for his work, including the Georg Büchner Prize, the Friedrich Nietzsche Prize and the Friedrich Hölderlin Prize.
