At the age of 17, he was already runner-up in the world magic championship in Tokyo. Hartling's current solo evening is itself an illusion: Pit Hartling works wonders is the result of 25 years on stage and yet always seems to be shaken out of the hollow of his hand in a conversational tone.

For two fantastic hours, all the laws of nature seem to be suspended, and Pit Hartling masterfully leads his audience from loud laughter to stunned amazement and back again.

Money multiplies as if by magic, birthdays of complete strangers are calculated scientifically from house numbers and shoe sizes, borrowed wedding rings are suddenly linked together, and in between Pit Hartling tramples on privacy and data protection and unabashedly reads his guests' minds.
