As in many cities, poverty and homelessness are still a problem in Cologne: many Cologne residents encounter homeless people in their neighborhoods every day. How the administration and politicians should deal with them is the subject of controversial debate. Ideas from the field and scientific concepts will be discussed at the panel discussion: How can the city and also urban society succeed in dealing humanely with people living on the streets?

These questions will be discussed by Petra Hastenteufel (OASE Benedikt Labre e.V.), Prof. Dr. Gabu Heindl (University of Kassel), Dr. Tim Lukas (University of Wuppertal) and Prof. Dr. Harald Rau (City of Cologne).
