Porz 1975

The Cologne-based band Schmitz & Niebuhr have recorded an insane prog rock meets art pop double concept album
with the title Porz 1975. It was released on May 2, 2025, and the band is now presenting it live.

Porz is now the largest district of the metropolis of Cologne and was an independent city until 1975,
in which the musicians grew up.

PORZ 1975 is an acoustic road movie through the 70s. A decade characterized by a wealth of ideas, compositional daring and the trust that listeners will take their time for music.
The concept album also outlines the traumas of the local government reform of the time - the accompanying upheavals and twists are reflected on a musical level.
