How can you research your own family history under National Socialism? The historian and author Johannes Spohr has been researching Nazi family histories for years and gives research workshops. In his book "Present Past" (Metropol 2026), ten people talk about how they researched National Socialism in their own families and how they deal with their findings.

In a reading followed by a discussion, Johannes Spohr and Felicitas Friedrich (Monacensia) will discuss current developments in the culture of remembrance - and how they influence writing about Nazi perpetrators in families.

Please note: You will already have the opportunity to take part in the curator's tour "Maria Theresia 23. Biography of a Munich Villa" at 5 pm. Curator Sylvia Schütz will guide you through the permanent exhibition and talk about how the biography of a house can be questioned and told.
