Marie, a pastor and former journalist from the Ivory Coast, lives in Tunis. She takes in Naney, a young mother in exile in search of a better future, and Jolie, a student on whom the hopes of her family left behind in her home country rest. Together they take in four-year-old Kenza, who survived a shipwreck. PROMIS LE CIEL follows the fate of these three women with different life paths and social backgrounds in a Tunisian context marked by racism. In her third feature film, director Erige Sehiri paints a picture of the everyday life of a black immigrant community in Tunisia.
