Pünktchen regularly goes begging at night, unnoticed by her wealthy parents, with her childminder and the shady Robert - known as "The Devil" - from which the two adults enrich themselves. This is how Pünktchen meets Anton, who is also begging, but for existential reasons. Pünktchen and Anton quickly become close friends and offer each other comfort and support in the face of the challenges of their fundamentally different realities.
