Radikalität, Widerstand und Literatur – Wie schreibt es sich in einer Welt aus den Fugen?

Literature makes it possible to experience the foreign as one's own. By imaginatively overcoming linguistic, denominational or ethnic boundaries, literature becomes a utopian - and at the same time public - place of radical humanity.

Is that really the case? Or does the privileged position of literature disqualify such a place from the outset? Is it possible to write with commitment without falling into the trap of ideological banality? Or, conversely, is this supposed trap an excuse for the cultural sector's lack of courage to consistently think through its own ethical demands to the end?

Is resistance exhausted in the literary design of the possible in the face of the compelling necessity of the real? And is the real really out of joint at the moment?

On this evening, three Leipzig authors will use their texts and controversial exchanges with the audience to question the rules of art and literature and their relationship to power, the possibility of writing radically and the role of resistance in one's own life.
