RambaZamba Theater, The Rocky Horror Drag Show

A young conservative couple get engaged in a cemetery and set off on a journey to the teacher in whose class they once met. On the way, the lovers' car breaks down in the middle of the night. In search of help, they enter the castle of a hedonistic party community and its leader, the eccentric scientist Dr. Frank N. Furter, who is creating Rocky, the perfect human being. The two immerse themselves in a strange world full of lust, music and sex - and return at the end completely transformed.

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" initially flopped at the box office in 1975, but then unexpectedly became a cult film. In the "Midnight Showings", queerness, B horror film effects, science fiction, extravagance and glamor are uninhibitedly celebrated through the audience's joyful participation and the performances of the legendary shadow casts of amateur actors.

Together with the legendary Berlin drag queens Judy LaDivina and Bibingka, the RambaZamba ensemble invites you to an evening that transforms this tradition into a new form: an inclusive drag night! The art form of drag plays wildly with the genders and explores the category of gender as a performative experience - in wild lip-sync performances to pop songs, intimate monologues and direct encounters with the audience. Otherness is not hidden or condemned here, but celebrated in a grandiose emancipatory act. Like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", Drag creates spaces of liberation in which the body, desire and belonging are renegotiated.

The RambaZamba ensemble opens its castle in the Kulturbrauerei as a refuge for all creatures of the night - those who must fear for their sovereignty and integrity in times of social polarization - and invites you to eroticism, free love and participation. Enter at your own risk!
