Two variations of noise music will be presented on this evening:

BJ Nilsen creates space-filling, quadrophonic and mysterious soundscapes in which electronic sound manipulations and field noises are interwoven. The space becomes sound. As a performer, Anna Schimkat creates the sounds before the eyes and ears of the audience and processes them in real time. In the Cologne concert, she uses water as the source material.

Amsterdam-based Swedish sound artist BJ Nilsen explores the relationship between sound, space and perception. Over the past 30 years, he has released over 25 works on internationally renowned labels. He also produces music for film and theater/dance. He started out in the post-industrial subculture, where he appeared in 1991 under the project name Morthond on Cold Meat Industry with dark sounds.

Anna Schimkat, a visual artist based in Mainz and Leipzig, enters the world of sound art with installations and performances. She composes spaces that sharpen perception and influence the viewer's actions. Her starting point is self-made instruments and field recordings of the world around us. In her research-based, interdisciplinary practice, she investigates how experiences are created and how awareness of sound can be heightened.
