Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's famous painting of the same name, Trevor Wishart's multi-channel audio work explores our contemporary situation, traversing an acoustic labyrinth of human predicaments.
This new hour-long work in 8-channel surround sound, which he himself describes as a comic opera, uses the voices of the characters as a starting point for complex digital manipulations. It premiered at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in October 2021.

Trevor Wishart, born 1946 in Leeds (England), composer of electronic music, whose software he develops himself (Sound Loom/CDP), lives and works in Australia, Canada, Germany, Holland, Sweden, the USA and at various English universities. His work has been awarded the Euphonie d'Or at the Bourges Festival and the Golden Nica for computer music at the Prix Ars Electronica Linz. The sound source material for his works is often his own voice, performed by renowned ensembles such as Singcircle or Electric Phoenix. He describes his aesthetic and technical ideas in the books "On Sonic Art" and "Audible Design". He is also involved in social, educational and environmental projects.
