The Kultur- und Stadthistorisches Museum invites you to a guided tour "Religions in Duisburg - a tour through the city's history" on Good Friday at 3 pm. Werner Pöhling will guide the guests on his tour through the large exhibition on the city's history.
Long before the introduction of Christianity in our region, archaeological finds such as burial rites bear witness to the beliefs of the local people. Our knowledge of religion expanded considerably in the Middle Ages thanks to written records. In the 16th century, Duisburg became Protestant; it was not until immigration at the beginning of the industrial age that many Catholics were once again attracted to the Ruhr region. But Jews and Muslims have also been part of our city for a long time. And today there is a great diversity of religions and beliefs in Duisburg.
Price information:
The guided tour is included in museum admission and costs 4.50 euros for adults and 2.00 euros for concessions.
