„Rendezvous mit… Caroline Link“. Werkstattgespräch im KunstSalon

In the organizer's words:

The filmsociety presents a workshop discussion with the renowned filmmaker and Oscar winner Caroline Link at the KunstSalon , followed by a screening of "A Year in Winter" at the Odeon.

Director Caroline Link, who has received numerous awards for her work, studied documentary film at the University of Television and Film Munich. Link initially worked for television as a screenwriter and director before making her cinema debut in 1996 with the feature film "Jenseits der Stille", which was immediately nominated for an Oscar. She actually won the Oscar in 2003 for her film "Nowhere in Africa". In 2008, she made the star-studded drama "A Year in Winter". Ten years later, she had a huge success with audiences and critics with "The Boy Needs Fresh Air". This was followed by the novel adaptation "When Hitler Stole the Pink Rabbit" and her first mini-series "Safe" in 2022. She has just finished shooting her latest film.

With the workshop discussion with Caroline Link, moderated by film journalist Andrea Burtz (WDR), we would like to trace the director's work and explore her cinematic approach.

Followed by a get-together with light refreshments.

The screening of "A Year in Winter"in the afternoon will be introduced by a film talk between Caroline Link and filmsociety program director Christian Meyer-Pröpstl.
