RheinPop - unplugged und frisch gezapft // Mit Koff, Lia J und Nico Mono

"RheinPop - unplugged and freshly tapped" is the name of the new series of events launched by Nico Mono. Together with his guests Koff and Lia J, the singer/songwriter will take to the stage at Joode Lade in Cologne on Thursday, September 11 - all of them will be performing original and acoustic music.

RheinPop offers a platform for bands and solo artists who identify with the versatility and appeal of popular music. The evening will be hosted by Ari Reith. The event is supported by Joode Lade, one of the most "pop-popular" Kölsch pubs in the cathedral city, and by Gaffel Kölsch. Both have long specialized in enriching Cologne's cultural life.

Koff (real name Mandelkow - the woe is silent) is a new and latecomer from Cologne. After years as a bassist and background singer in blues, funk and prog rock bands and (independently of that ;)) severe depression, long therapies and self-healing processes, koff reveals himself for the first time in 2024 in his true form: as a lyricist, as a songwriter, as a singer and as the person whose core he has uncovered.
koff celebrates his weaknesses and propagates and lives healthy sadness, courage for a new masculinity without toxic alpha behavior and more femininity in everything. In short: love for all aspects and phases of a lifetime

LIA J

Between sweet neo-soul, juicy AltRnB and sun-flavored Latin, Lia J's music sounds like the end of July and spontaneous plans. With a half-packed suitcase and a head full of questionable advice, she colors inner chaos with sounds from all over the world. She takes you from Cologne to Caracas, from DMs to therapy. Her debut album Mid 20s, co-written with Bastido, is a melodic diary about being young in the 21st century. Since 2023, Lia J has regularly performed on stages all over Germany - including Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Mannheim. Her voice and groove-oriented live set have earned her airplay on stations such as COSMO, WDR5 and Deutschlandfunk Kultur. And that was just the beginning.

If you look at NICO MONO's discography, you'll find one catchy tune after another. The musician is at home in German-language singer-songwriter music. However, his songs take him out into the world. The singer already shared his passion for travel with his listeners in 2015 with his nationally successful summer hit "Amsterdam".
